Just got back from a two day trip to Marineland, got to use my new lens out there and it was fantastic! I've already uploaded tons of photos onto my Flickr but I've been slow to get them up here.
The lighting at Marineland is absolutely BEAUTIFUL this late, I don't usually stay as late as I did on this day and I am so glad I did. Not only is barely anyone around, but I get photos like this. I'm going to be as bold as to say this may be one of my best orca photos ever. I don't mean to sounds cocky with it, but I love the straight on portrait, the reflection, his eye, and of course, the colour! The red wall makes a beautiful backdrop.
At the time of the photo Ike has some fish in his mouth, which he would spit on the surface in order to tempt seagulls into the water. He was baiting them in order to eat them.
